A failed property transaction can be costly for both you and your client and can result in difficult discussions about unpaid legal fees. A Residential Abortive Transaction Insurance (RATI) policy can mitigate this risk. The policy reimburses all legal fees and disbursements, valuation reports, lenders fees, mortgage arrangements and survey fees if the purchase or sale of a residential property fails to complete for reasons beyond the control of the law firm's client.

The policy covers residential conveyancing fees (excluding auctions) up to £1,500 if the property being bought or sold falls through, or up to £3,000 if the client is both buying and selling.

From the date of purchase of the policy, there is a 365-day indemnity period; it is underwritten by ACASTA Europe Limited – Europe's leading legal expenses insurer.
